So today I am going to be telling you all my ride or die makeup products. I have seen this going round YouTube at the moment after Jaclyn Hill created a tag and I’m obsessed. I love finding out what people love to use, so I thought I would share the products I love with you. I'm gonna leave links to the products at the end of this post in case you wanted to get them for yourself and in case you wanted to see the products, as I'm not going to put pictures in this post as my products are a bit battered.
Primer
My ride or die primer has to be the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. This primer isn’t expensive which is amazing and you can get it in so many places. I have gone through so many squeezy tubes of this primer. It does everything I need a primer to do, it helps give my foundation a base to stick to and it helps smooth out any texture I may have on my face. It’s amazing
Foundation
I am so fussy when it comes to foundation and I always find it really hard to find my exact shade with different brands because I’m really pale. I have finally found one I love and have gone through 2 bottles of it.
Under eye concealer
With under eye concealer I am again so fussy because a lot of concealers crease so badly under my eyes and let’s be real, that isn’t a good look. I have found one that is AMAZING though. I use the Maybelline Eraser Eye in light. This concealer isn’t too heavy underneath my eyes, it brightens my under eye area so well. I love it. I use it to brighten other areas of my face as well.
Concealer
For and imperfections that may still be showing through my foundation, I use the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 10 Light. I find this concealer covers imperfections so well. It’s a really nice consistency as well.
Under eye setting powder
I really love using the Rimmel London Match Perfection Loose Powder to set my under eye concealer and to bake. It keeps everything in place and makes it all look perfect and airbrushed. I love it and it’s cheap.
All over face powder
Since I started wearing makeup, I’ve always loved and always gone back to the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. I have gone through SO many pans of this powder. This does a perfect job of setting my face and making it look matte without looking really flat. It’s not too heavy on my skin. Again, it’s cheap as well which is always a bonus if you’re on a budget. The only thing I would change about this powder is the packaging because my lids always break but I suppose you can’t expect amazing packaging at such a cheap and cheerful price.
Brows
I love filling in my brows, they frame my face so well once they’re filled in. I don’t use a product specifically for brows, I use an eyeshadow. I use the eyeshadow in Whiskey out of the Naked Smoky palette. I used to use a sleek brow powder but I wasn’t too keen on it so I tried this for my brows and completely fell in love with the look of them after. I also use a brow setting gel and the one I love to use is the Maybelline Brow Drama Eyebrow Mascara in Clear. This keeps my brows in place and looking perfect all day. I have used this for such a long time and it wouldn’t feel right using another.
Eyeshadow Primer
For priming my eyes I really love using the pro longwear paint pot in Painterly by MAC. I have tried so many eyeshadow primers and really haven’t liked them. I was recommended one of the Urban Decay primer potions and I couldn’t stand it, it did nothing for me. I find that the paint pot keeps my eyeshadow in place and helps the colours to pop even more. I love it.
Eyeshadow
This is probably the hardest for me to choose because I love all of my eyeshadow palettes so much and my singles. The palette I would choose as my ride or die though has to be the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I love all of the naked palettes but I definitely get the most use out number 3 because I love the way the pink toned shades look on my eyes as I find they really make my blue eyes pop. I love it. For single eyeshadows I couldn’t just choose one so I’ve cheated a bit and picked out my two favourites. My favourite single eyeshadows are Star Violet and Sketch, both by MAC. They’re both amazing and complete a look with the Naked 3 palette, again. I love the way they make my eye colour pop. Sketch looks so lovely along the lash line as eyeliner if a black looks too harsh with one of my pink toned eye looks.
Eyeliner
I don’t always wear eyeliner with a makeup look because I feel that when I’m not wearing falsies it can sometimes look too heavy on my eyes. The liner I do use though is a liquid liner by a brand called Colourmatix, this is the makeup brand we got in our Beauty Therapy kits so I don’t know how easy it is to get hold of and how much it costs as a standalone product but I will try to find it for you all. I have found this liner to be amazing. It is so black and such a nice consistency. I have tried so many eyeliners and haven’t really liked any of the others that I’ve tried because they just didn’t work for me. It doesn’t flake off during the day like I have had with others. I really like it.
Mascara
I actually have 2 mascaras I use because I use different ones for my top and bottom lashes. For my top lashes I love to use Benefit Roller Lash in Black. It’s such an amazing mascara. It separates my lashes nicely and gives such a nice look to my eyelashes. It holds a curl really well on my lashes which I really like because so many mascaras that I have tried don’t. I have currently ran out of it which makes me sad, I need a new one. I have been using the Maybelline the Falsies Push up Drama. If you’re on a budget I would definitely recommend this one as it gives a similar effect. It was definitely close between those two mascaras but I do prefer Roller Lash. For my bottom lashes I love using the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I like to make my bottom lashes look a bit more fluffy I suppose you could say. I really like the look this mascara gives to them, it makes them look exactly how I want without being too bottom heavy.
False Lashes
I love falsies but if I had to pick one pair they would definitely be the Ardell Wispies. They’re so comfortable on my eyes and I adore the look the give. They’re really easy to put on also and again they’re cheap.
Blush
I love pink blushes that you can build up or can have a subtle amount of colour with. I love using the Sleek blush in Pixie Pink. Looking at it in the pan it looks slightly intimidating as it is bright pink but on the cheeks its gives a lovely flush of colour. I love it. It’s a healthy glow sort of colour. The packaging I have found on sleek products breaks quite easily but again it’s on the cheaper price range.
Bronzer
I use the Benefit Hoola bronzer. I have been using this bronzer for about a year and a half, from the first day I used it I fell in love. It’s perfect. The colour of it isn’t too warm or too cool. It gives a natural bronzed look without looking too much. I find it’s the perfect shade to contour my face with as well. I think the packaging is so cute. It is pricier but it is so worth it.
Highlighter
I am so obsessed with highlighting and highlighters, I love the look it gives to my makeup but I don’t use one you can buy on its own. I purchased a highlighter that I had heard amazing things about, using it on myself I was very disappointed as it was far too glittery for my liking. I discovered the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour palette and fell in love with the pink/peachy coloured highlighters in that. I sort of mix them together to create my perfect highlighter so it’s sort of not cheating as I use them both. They’re not really glittery and it gives me a perfect glow and I love it. If I could but it as a single product, I definitely would.
I love to use the combo of MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick and Soar Lip liner. I love the how it makes my lips look. It’s my perfect nude shade. I love the two shades separately and together they look really good! It’s definitely my go to lip combo.
Setting Spray
My ride or die setting spray has to be the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I love this stuff. It keeps my makeup looking perfect all day and keeps it in place through anything. I was bought this originally as a birthday present and fell in love with it. Again it is a slightly pricier product but it is 100% worth the money. I have currently ran out of it as I loved it that much so I have been using the Freedom Pro Fixing Spray which is a good alternative if you're on a budget. It definitely does what it needs to.
I don’t know the brands of the brushes I use as they’re cheap ones that I’ve got off of places like Amazon but they’re good and definitely do the job how I want them to.
Perfume
In the ride or die product videos I’ve seen, they’ve included they’re ride or die perfume. I know Jaclyn did in the original one also so I thought I would share mine. My ride or die perfume is the Vera Wang Princess perfume. I love it so much, I am running out of it at the moment though which makes me sad. I won’t try and describe the sent as I am awful at that but it’s very feminine and just a lovely sent. The bottle is so cute as well. The only downside is that it is pricey but the smell is worth it.
I hope you’ve enjoyed finding out what my ride or die products are. I would love to know some of yours as I am always up for trying new products.
Until next time beauties.
